September Projects Alden Road Girls Card Club

The Alden Road Girls Card Club is very near and dear to my heart, and I meet with them at least twice a month to teach card making and paper crafting projects.  When I leave, the girls are then facilitate the class with their peers and classmates.  The girls then have an opportunity to teach in a leadership role, and the projects made with donated materials, are then used as fund-raisers for field trips chosen by their teacher, Ms. Green.   This week, Ms. Green wanted me to create simple and quick candy and treat holders, and Ciara, the group president asked if they could do a pop-up card... So here they are!

In the background, is a modified version of the double pocket purse which we learned at one of the Stampin' Up! Regional Events last year.  Each pocket holds a treat.. in this case, skittles and twizzler sticks.  It's a perfect use for my retired designer papers and river rock ribbon!

In the foreground, we've wrapped two layers of retired designer series paper around 5 pixie sticks.. both projects are adorned by a large oval punch pumpkin with boho blossoms punched greenery.

Here are the front, and open view of the simple pop up card we made.  The card measures 5x5 and again, uses retired papers.  Simplicity is key here, to give them results... so I've used the Always stamp set and coordinating circle punches to add decorative elements to the card.  The top note die is a perfect size for the interior pop-up, and the curly label punch and stamp set fit nicely inside to make a cute and simple birthday card.
