Keeping it Simple.. plus cards

These are two very simple cards I created yesterday, just for the fun of it. Setting a goal of keeping it simple is sometimes more challenging than adding volumes of layers and hodgepodge. The results, however are simply stunning!

This first card utilizes the set "Blooming with Love" found on page 47 of the spring/summer collection. The exclusive and versatile collection of 8 stamps retails for $22.95 + s/h + tax... quite a deal considering the price of stamps in most retail establishments! Although one of the two word stamps accompanying this set is exclusively for Mothers' Day, the remaining 7 stamps can be used for any occasion, including scrapbooking! Imagine a beautiful pag borders of handpainted flowers/pots... Cardstock: Brocade Blue, Gable Green, Very Vanilla Ink: Basic Black Accessories: Brocade Blue 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, Pure Color Pencils Technique: Gamasol and Pencil.

I don't personally own this set, but have seen plenty of beatiful cards made with it. When my upline and I traded sets last week, this was one I chose to borrow from her. The set is called "Pretty Amazing" and is found on page 83 of the spring/summer collection. I love the little hummingbird in the set, and really thought the first card I'd make would feature it.. but this one just called out for butterflies!! Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Wild Wasabi, Blue Bayou Ink: Blue Bayou, Wild Wasabi Other: 2 way glue pen, lt. blue stampin' glitter, stippling brushes Technique: Stippling.
