My Crazy Valentines..

As a paper crafting designer and instructor, it's somewhat challenging to come up with new ideas for classes. Often, I'm inspired by fabric, paper, or fashion when creating a design. As most of you know, I also teach at our local AC Moore Crafts store. Often the classes are designed in accordance with the specifications defined by the local crafter coordinator, but not always.

Next week, I'll be teaching a very basic class in which we'll complete three items. The items: a candy bar/gift card holder, a gift bag, and (of course) a Valentine!

The inspiration from this class came from the Stampin' Up! Designer Paper Pack "Bali Breeze". The name of the pack itself inspires visuals of gentle ocean waves and breezes, swaying palms, and tropical florals. The double sided papers project the same images when thumbing thru the tempting turquoise, Pink passion, taken with teal, and Old Olive colors. The patterns are also fresh and fun when accompanied by the "Time Well Spent" rubber stamp set.

Long story short, here are the items I will be facilitating next week at the local store.. hope to see you there!

Valentine, stamped and stippled with Cranberry Crisp, enhanced with White Signo Gel Pen, and 1/4" white grosgrain ribbon.

Valentine Gift Bag. The ribbon is woven in/out thru eyelets along the stamped and stippled heart. The photograph is a bit flat, and doesn't really share the dimensionality of the project with the raised heart and migrating ribbon. It's a perfect bag to carry along to school and pass out personalized Valentines.. or to encasse a precious gift for that special someone on Valentines' Day!

This is a GIANT Cadbury Chocolate Bar, which has been wrapped in Cranberry Crisp and DP... it holds a second surprise too!

The card atop the chocolate bar holds a gift card as well as a sweet valentine message for a good friend.

The ribbon helps to 'lift' the bar out of the wrapping too, such fun!

The college students and Moms I shared these with were really looking forward to gifting friends and family. Would'nt you like to receive these too?
