Regionals Shoebox Swaps

Well, we're back from the Orlando, Florida Stampin' Up! Regionals!! I have lots to share.. new stamp set, new samples, and new swaps I received. I'm sorry to say that half of the swaps I received weren't even labeled with the creator's name!! What a shame! I'm not sure why someone would go thru all the trouble to create swaps and not take the time to put their name on the swap!

So.. today, I am sharing the shoebox swaps we did on the evening prior to the seminar. All the cards were stunning! I'm so glad to be part of such a talented and creative group of demonstrators!

This first card was created by Susan Best, a demonstrator from North Florida, and part of our group. We embossed and cut out the black cat.. and added green stickles for sparkly eyes. The word window punch was used to make the fence posts, and two sizes of the oval punches were used to make the adorable pumpkins.. Note how the photo corner punch adds a nice intriguing accent to this card! Isn't it fun?!! We all enjoyed making this fun and creative card!

This second card was designed by Susan's sister, Roberta (not a demonstrator, but a very talented and creative stamper!).. When I showed my college-aged daughter this card, she said 'how fun!'. She expecially liked how all the images went together to create so many interesting layers of texture and depth.. she liked the bright colors too. I loved the creative way that Roberta used the cropadile tool to add additional interest along the bottom.. see the strip of purely pomegranate with 1/4" holes punched? Really a fun card and shoebox swap!

This next card was Janet White's share.. utilizing the rock 'n roll technique, layers, and the ticket corner punch. Although the picture doesn't really show it, dazzling diamonds were added to the flowers and this jewel sparkles. The card is quite fresh and fun, simple to create too! Janet plans on making several of these cards for her sister who is a minister in a small church/town. What a special gift this will be.. and most likely a very welcome gift for a minister to receive! What a thoughtful sister!

This last shoebox swap was by our fearless leader, Lee Conrey. Lee used the new and quite elegant ribbon from the winter mini catalog to grace the front of this simple card with style. Lee always seems to come up with simple and elegant designs.. and as usual, she didn't disappoint us! I just loved the simple layers, the color combination, and the graceful knot across the front of the card. Now I have to go play with that ribbon some more!
